Traditionally, arranging seating for your guests involves place cards and table numbers; however, there are many creative alternatives that can add a personal dimension to your reception and reflect you and your fiance's unique personalities and interests.
When Jennifer and Joe Beaudean began planning their dream wedding, both agreed that it was imperative that they incorporate their alma mater into the day. The couple fell in love while attending the University of Missouri-Columbia, therefore the school and the city hold many memories of their dating years. Since tiger-striped linens and black and gold dÈcor were definite nos, the couple formulated the idea of using Mizzou as the theme of their table assignment system at the reception. Instead of numbers, 21 of Jennifer and Joe's favorite Mizzou places, landmarks, buildings and bars were assigned as names for the guest tables. Tent cards on each table contained the name, picture and history of a different Mizzou site. Guests located their designated table by using the framed "campus map."
